It is with great sadness that the family of Sis. Patricia Ann Vaughan announces her passing on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Patricia was born on April 17, 1953 in Saint John, NB to the late Hartley and Thelma (Mann) Green.
Sis. Patricia was known by many names – Pat, Patsy, Patti, Mom, ‘Old Lady’, Nanny, or Mrs. Vaughan – each reflecting the unique relationships she had with those around her. She was cherished for her adventurous and kind spirit.
She will be dearly missed by her children; Jeffery Vaughan (Candice Young), Cara Vaughan, and Becky Vaughan (Marc Gauvin), stepchildren; Darci Northrup (Megan MacDonald) and Kelli Northrup, grandchildren; Ethan, Landen and Caleb Curran, and Denver and Chloe Vaughan, sister Carol Vair (Jud), close friends Susan, Jane, and Christine, special pup Tootsie and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Sis. Patricia was predeceased by her first husband Brian Vaughan and second husband William Northrup, sister Judy Smith and brother Ralph Green.
Sister Patricia dedicated her career to teaching, starting at Island View Elementary School before moving to Hazen White-St. Francis School. Beyond her professional life, she was an active and contributing member of her community, involved with organizations such as the Philip A. Jerguson Chapter 18 OES, Nerdides #78 Daughters of the Nile, IBEW 502 Retirees Club, and the Retired Teachers Association.
Pat loved to travel and share a great meal with friends and family. She was always ready for a new adventure or trip with her children, grandchildren and friends. She was known to take turns rotating travels with her kids and going on trips to PEI with friends. They created many fond memoires over the years; she was always the first person to get on the rides at the fair or amusement park with her kids and grandkids. Patricia’s grandchildren were her world; she treasured every moment she had with them and her family.
The family wish to thank the incredible nursing staff of 3BS SICU and her amazing doctors for their kindness, compassion and dedication to her care.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation was on Dec. 9th 2025, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3.
and a Memorial Service followed at 3:30 PM at the Church of the Good Shepherd on 668 Manawagonish Rd., Saint John, NB E2M 3W5
In lieu of flowers donations in Patricia’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Shriners Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
