
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bro. Ron Bateman, 86, that occurred on Monday, March 24th, 2025, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital in Moncton. Born on Shediac Road, NB, on March 16th, 1939, he was the son of the late Amos Bateman and the late Ella (Wood) Bateman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Winnie (Wood), of 65 years; his children: Sandra Veneau (John) of Moncton,Ron Keith (Charlotte) of Lincoln, and Dawn Ritzhaupt (Mike) of Shediac Cape; his eight grandchildren: Vanessa (Aaron), Sabrina, John (Jennie), Jennifer (Rob), Jamie (Ashley), Danielle, Micah (Evan), and Brook (Sadie); his five great grandchildren: Charles, Sarah, Bentley, Axel, and Elijah; as well as several nieces and nephews. Bro. Ron was predeceased by his son, Dale; his three brothers: Gordon, Ellwood, and Arthur; as well as his six sisters: Gladys, Emily, Joy, Hazel, June, and Joan.
Visitation was be held from the St-Martin’s in the Woods Anglican Church (3394 Route 134, Shediac Cape, NB), on Friday, April 4th, 2025, from 7 to 9 pm only. On Saturday, April 5th, 2025, there will be a Masonic service held at 1 pm, followed by the Order of the Eastern Star. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm. A reception to follow at the Young Smith Hall.
Donations in memory of Ron can be made to the educational trust fund for his youngest grandson, Elijah Atwell, which was set up by the family or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
