Sister Bonita Mae “Bonnie” Mazerolle
1944-2023
The Members of Unity Chapter #35 sadly announces the passing of Sis. Bonita “Bonnie” Mae (Phillips) Mazerolle on September 21, 2023, at the age of 78 years. Bonnie was born on December 28, 1944, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late Alton B. Phillips and Muriel J. (Arbeau) Phillips.
She worked for the federal government CPP for ten years. Bonnie was a valued member of Unity Chapter No.35, Order of the Eastern Star. She was initiated on November 23rd, 2005, held several offices and served as the Grand Representative of Pennsylvania in New Brunswick from 2016 to 2017. She was Roman Catholic by faith, Bonnie was a faithful member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. A devoted mother and grandmother, her family always came first. She was caring compassionate, and cared for others before herself. She loved tole painting, doing crafts knitting, quilting, sewing and loved to cook.
Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Mazerolle (Jennifer) of Hanwell, NB; grandsons, Matthew and Noah; Chosen granddaughter, Alyssa Anderson (Ryan) of Calgary, AB; sister, Madeline (Phillips) Boies (Paul) of Fredericton, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Leon, Wilfred Mazerolle; son, Christopher, and daughter-in-law, Shari Mazerolle.
Arrangements were entrusted to McAdam’s Funeral Home in Fredericton with a Star service on Sept. 24, 2023. Her Mass of Christian Burial took place on Sept. 25th at 2pm, at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Hanwell Road in Fredericton. Interment at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Cork. NB.
