Miramichi #44 was saddened by the loss of Sis. Doris E. Parks


SISTER DORIS E. PARKS
1928 - 2015

Miramichi Chapter #44 was saddened to learn of the passing of Sister Doris E. Parks on Thursday April 2, 2015 at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital, Moncton at the age of 87. She was born in Fredericton in 1928, the daughter of the late Garnet and Elsie McCoombs. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald in 1983.
She is survived by her daughter Beverly Dixon (Bill) of Moncton and two sons Richard (Shelley) of Fredericton and Robin (Cheryl) of Calgary, three granddaughters: Krista and Kami Dixon of Moncton and Kaitlyn of Calgary and one great-granddaughter Bryanna Dixon of Moncton and step grandson Matthew McElman of Fredericton and sister-in-law Edith Parks.
Doris was a homemaker and a devout member of St Andrews Anglican Church, Newcastle, the Ladies Church Guild and the Altar Guild. She had joined the former Prince Andrew #42 in 1962, serving as Treasurer for many years, a member of Rebekah Silver Link Lodge # 61 Chatham and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed travel, watching curling and cheering for the Blue Jays as well as her Monday afternoon Rummoli group and Friday evening suppers. She was a strong lady blessed with many good friends
The funeral service was held on Monday April 6th at St Andrews Anglican Church with the Venerable Rev.Richard Steeves officiating.
