Sister Reta J. Saunders passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, June 8, 2015, at the age of 90. Bom in Upper Nelson, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mildred Pleadwell.
A 58 year member of Fidelity Chapter Sister Reta was always there to greet a new member, donate whatever was needed, served on the Calling Committee for many years and held the Office of Marshal 1982.-83.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church in Riverview. She enjoyed knitting, especially baby hats which she donated to the Moncton Hospital, gardening and socializing with her friends and family.
Sister Reta was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Saunders October 9, 2005, one sister, Eileen and one brother, Frederick. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Brenda of Riverview, son Gary and daughter-in-law Barb of North Carolina, grandchildren, Trevor and Heather, her sister Zella Northrup as well as several nieces and nephews.
An Eastern Star Memorial Service was conducted by the members of Fidelity Chapter at Fergusons Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. The Funeral Service was held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Riverview, Thursday June 11,2015, 11:00 a.m. the Venerable Brent Ham officiating. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
