Grand Chapter is saddened by the loss of Bro. Charles Rafuse, PGP

Charles Arthur Rafuse (1936-2015) passed away peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB on Wednesday, February 25th, 2015 at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June (nee Bateman) of St. George, his son Terry (Virginia) and beloved grandchildren Brandon and Cassy of Mississauga and his son Mark (Brenda) of Ottawa. Born in Crousetown, NS, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Rafuse.
Charlie proudly served his community throughout his long and full life. He was a member of St. George Masonic Lodge #12 and OES Granite Chapter #15. Charlie was Past Patron of Granite Chapter #15 OES of St. George. He was Past Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of New Brunswick, serving with Sister Carol Sutherland culminating with their Friendship Gardens Session in July 2001. He was Grand Representative of Vermont for two years as well as served as the Grand Treasurer of the Grand Chapter of New Brunswick for several years. He was also Past District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge. Charlie was a Past District 7 Governor and Life Member of the Kinsmen Clubs of Canada. He was a minor hockey coach and builder in Nashwaaksis and Riverview. Charlie was an accountant by profession and retired from Connors Bros. in 2000 after a long career that began in 1954 with the Bank of Montreal in Bridgewater, NS.
A Masonic Tribute Service and an Order of the Eastern Star service was be held at the funeral home on Friday. A celebration of Charlies life was held at Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Keith Osborne officiating.
Committal Service will occur on June 27th at 2pm at St. Martin's-in-the-Woods Anglican Church, Shediac Cape, NB.
