Lady Alexander #24 was saddened by the loss of Sis. Elise Caldwell

Lady Alexander Chapter # 24 was saddened to learn of the passing of Sister Elise Caldwell on Friday Jan.16th, 2015, at the Dalhousie Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was 93.
Born in Dalhousie she was the daughter of the late Florine and Harry J Hubert.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of over fifty years Frank L Caldwell, and brothers Allison, Harry and David. She is survived by her sister Isabel Bisson, sister- in-law Joanne Hubert, special niece Wendy Hubert, godson Steven Mann, several nieces, nephews & special friend Donna McEwen.
Sis. Elise loved her garden and spent many hours tending her flowers. A spiritual person, her faith and her church were a very important part of her life.
A Registered Nurse by profession Elise worked at both Hotel Dieu and Soldiers Memorial Hospital, as a supervisor, operating room nurse, special duty nurse and the training of new nurses.
Sis. Elise was initiated into Lady Alexander chapter on Jan 19, 1967 and was an active member until her health prevented her from continuing. She served as Worthy Matron in 1975-76 with Worthy Patron Robert Mackenzie and was Grand Representative of Quebec from 1981-83.
Her funeral service conducted by Don Thompson, Lay pastor, was held on Tues. Jan. 20 and preceded by an Eastern Star Memorial service. Interment will take place in the spring.
