Obituary for Sylvia Mollins

Sylvia Anne (Sam) Mollins, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital on March 3, 2019. Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Jessie Murray.

Sylvia is survived by her husband James, soulmate of 60 years; loving mother to Donna Lawson (Garth) of Rexton, Randy Mollins of Shediac Cape, Susan Horsman (Scott) of Moncton, Jackie Mollins (John) of Fredericton, Roy Mollins of Halifax; beloved grandmother to, Brittany, Colby, Katelyn, Jenica, Jesse, Braden, Ellie, (late) Kathy-Ann. She will also be missed by her siblings, John Murray (Anne), Muriel Connors (late Joseph), Helen Bateman (late Bert), Erminie Mollins (Leigh) as well as several nieces and nephews.

Devoted member of St. Martin’s-in-the-Woods Anglican Church. Served as warden, vestry member, ACW, Guild and various volunteer committees. Sylvia had years of volunteering with Hospice, Meals for Seniors, School Breakfast Programs and The Canadian Cancer Society. Sylvia cherished her family, loved to laugh, play games and enjoyed every moment she spent with her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Martin’s-in-the-Woods Anglican Church on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Martin’s-in-the-Woods Anglican Church Building Fund, Canadian Diabetes Association, NB Chapter of Ostomy Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
