Miramichi #44 mourns the passing of Sis. Mavis Anne Cooper

Mavis Anne Cooper, wife of the late George William Cooper of Gillis Lane, Miramichi NB, passed away peacefully at Moncton City Hospital on Sunday March 4, 2018, at the age of 72. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter the late Joseph and Mildred (Paul) Poirier.
She was the manager of the Fundy Line Motel, member of Bethel United Church, very proud member of St. Mary’s First Nation, member of Eve-True Rebecca Lodge # 65, Past President Royal Canadian Legion # 3, Past President Royal Canadian Legion Command and member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by a special friend Freddy Irving, her four legged babies Nellie and Molson, one daughter; Amy Cooper of Miramichi, three sons; Jimmy of Miramichi, Archie (Donna) of Miramichi and Kenny (Kelly) of Sexsmith Alberta, nine grandchildren; David (Amanda), Matthew (Jessica), Meghan (Tom), Nathen, Keenan, Elizabeth, George, Will and Sam, three great grandchildren; Mackenzie, Brian and Haven.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by step sons; Burton and Charles and a infant brother Joe.
Mavis Anne Cooper is resting at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9. The Funeral Service will be held Friday March 9, at 11 a.m. at Davidson’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Gerald Blaquiere officiating. Burial will be in Moorefield Cemetery at a later date.
Please note: Members of Eastern Star are ask to assemble Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. for a memorial service.
