Fidelity Chapter #36, was saddened by the loss of Sis. Phyllis Dixon

Sister Phyllis Dixon passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Oct. 30, 2015. Born in Loggieville, NB, on Aug.20, 1926, to the late J. Campbell & Blanche (England) Worrell, she was the loving wife to husband Brother James Dixon.
As an Order of the Eastern Star member she was was initiated March 3rd, 1964 in Fidelity Chapter #36 and was a 51-year member. Shewas also a member of Queen Mary Chapter #4 from 1975 until the chapter closed. Phyllis was twice the Worthy Matron of Queen Mary Chapter and a Grand Representative of Minnesota in New Brunswick. In 2015 Phyllis was voted a life member of Fidelity Chapter.
She was also an active member of the community and very service oriented. Sister Phyllis was a member of the United Church Women, I.O.D.E, Through the years, she taught Sunday school, and was a C.G.I.T Leader and an Explorer Leader. After moving to Saint John in the mid '90's, she began volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society.
She led a wonderful and long life, passing away at the age of 89 due to Alzheimer's. Phyllis' belief in further education led her to selflessly donate her body to the Dalhousie School of Medicine.
In addition to her loving husband Jim and daughter Krista, Phyllis is survived by brother Robert of Chatham, NB and sister Annabelle Wilson of Pennsylvania as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother S.C. Bun Worrell and sister Deanne Trevors.
Sister Phyllis' funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 4 at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel in Saint John preceded by an Eastern Star Memorial Service conducted jointly by members of Fidelity, St. Stephen, and Hampton Chapters
